Dataprep aims for 20% sales growth

September 29, 2004

TECHNOLOGY-BASED Dataprep Holdings Bhd aims to chalk up 20% growth in revenue for the financial year ending March 31, 2005, up from the RM85.55mil in the previous year, said chief executive officer Chew Liong Kim.

With improved management and efficiency, he said, the company was confident of achieving the target.

"Our first quarter is profitable and we are on track to achieve a turnaround this financial year," he told reporters after the company's AGM in Petaling Jaya yesterday.

For the 2004 financial year, the company recorded a higher pre-tax loss of RM38.17mil compared with a pre-tax loss of RM33.73mil in the year before.

The loss was mainly attributed to a group-wide assessment of the carrying value and impairment of existing assets, in line with the rationalisation and restructuring of the group's operations. - Bernama.
